MAKE A CHOCOLATE BAR

Have a go at making this bonkers chocolate-y treat, it makes the perfect gift. You can tailor your bars to suit your particular preferences, trade jelly sweets for dried fruit and granola, or even go crazy and add salted snacks instead of sweet. With nothing to weigh out or measure you don’t need a lot of time or equipment, so let your creativity take over!

YOU WILL NEED:

100 g milk chocolate

100 g white chocolate

marshmallows

popcorn

smashed cookies

jelly sweets

sprinkles

saucepan

water

2 heatproof glass bowls (these need to fit into the pan you are using)

wooden spoon

2 teaspoons

small baking tray

kitchen foil

oven gloves

a helpful adult

METHOD

STEP 1:

Line a small baking tray with kitchen foil and put it to one side.

STEP 2:

Fill a saucepan with water, to a depth of roughly 4 cm.

STEP 3:

Break up the milk chocolate and white chocolate bars into two heatproof bowls.

STEP 4:

Place the bowl of milk chocolate into the saucepan of water. Then place the saucepan onto the hob. On a low heat, stir the chocolate with a wooden spoon and wait for it to melt.

STEP 5:

Take the pan off the heat. Ask an adult to help you use a teaspoon to spoon out the chocolate onto the baking tray. Leave spaces between each blob.

STEP 6:

Wearing oven gloves so you don’t burn your hands, remove the empty milk chocolate bowl from the pan. Now put the bowl of white chocolate in the saucepan of water and melt it using the same method as before.

STEP 7:

With a clean teaspoon and a helpful adult, spoon out the white chocolate and fill all the gaps you left between the milk chocolate blobs.

STEP 8:

Marble the milk and white chocolate by gently mixing them together with the back of your teaspoon. Make sure you stop mixing before they have completely merged.

STEP 9:

Press your chosen tasty treats into the bar and sprinkle over with hundreds and thousands.

STEP 10:

Put the chocolate bar into the fridge for about an hour.

Make sure you share your chocolate shambles with friends, there is definitely plenty to go around!
